Outdoor Attractions:

1. Chewacla State Park

• Chewacla State Park offers 696 acres of scenic beauty. Chewacla provides access to many different hiking and mountain biking trails of varying difficulties, a 26-acre lake, swimming area, playground, campground, and picnic areas with shelters, tables, and grills. A variety of activities including fishing, swimming, and non-motorized boating are welcomed. 

     Entry costs are as follows: 

     Adults aged 12 - 61: $4.00

     Children aged 4 - 11: $2.00

     Seniors aged 62+: $2.00

     Children aged 4 and under are free!

2. Donald E. Davis Arboretum 

• The Donald E. Davis Arboretum is a 13.5 acre botanic garden facility located in the heart of Auburn. Supported by the College of Sciences and Mathematics, it provides visitors with a place to enjoy a natural setting and experience the native plants and habitats of Alabama. The Arboretum, one of the oldest in the SEC, functions as a plant museum and has at its core a living collection of scientifically ordered plants with provenance documentation. It functions as an outdoor classroom for university classes, local schools and community groups. The Arboretum has three water features including a waterfall, miles of walking trails and places to relax in a beautiful nature setting. 

     There is no charge for admission. The Arboretum is open from sunrise to sunset.

3. Indian Pines Country Club

• 18-hole, par 71 public golf course open to the public, offering a variety of tees for all skill levels.

4. Kiesel Park

• Auburn’s largest park is Kiesel Park and is made up of 124 acres. Composed of spectacular nature and walking trails, ponds and a garden as well as a playground, pavilion and picnic area, Kiesel Park is also home to a fenced-in off-leash dog park that is open to the public.

5. Kreher Preserve & Nature Center

• Operating as a non-profit outreach program of Auburn University’s School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences, this 120 acre nature preserve includes a nature playground, amphitheater wheel-chair accessible 150-seat multi-level meeting area and fire pit, and a covered educational pavilion. There are interpretive signs along the 30 trails that cover 6 miles, restrooms, and drinking fountains.

     The KPNC offers environmental education and outreach programs including animal encounters and             guided walks, day camps and preschool programs.

6. Old Rotation

• The “Old Rotation”(c. 1896) is the oldest continuous cotton experiment in the world and the third oldest field crop experiment on the same site in the United States. This rotation also includes rotations with corn, soybean, and small grains and includes winter cover crops, mainly winter legumes. Located on the campus of Auburn University.

7. Parkway Farmer’s Market

• Family owned farmer’s market offering fresh vegetables, flowers, seasonal Pumpkins, and weekly specials. 

     Debit and credit accepted. EBT accepted. 

8. Town Creek Park

• A scenic green park featuring a pond and walking trail of 0.87 miles as well as a grassy field with a swinging bench. This park includes a pavilion as well as a fenced in dog play area. 

     Park open from sunrise to sunset.

• Catch the latest movies in Auburn’s movie theater!

2. CyberZone Entertainment

• An amusement center offering a variety of activities to enjoy including laser tag, virtual reality, and arcade games.

3. Good Times Bowling

• Auburn’s family owned entertainment center offers bowling, arcades, escape rooms, and food!

4. Jay & Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center 

• East Alabama’s premier performing arts venue presents touring Broadway productions, opera, dance, chamber arts, popular musical performances, and student and faculty music and theater performances. The Gogue Center is home to both the 1,202-seat Woltosz Theatre and 3,500-capacity Amphitheater at the City of Auburn Lawn and Porch, with 17,000 square feet of open space for outdoor performances, community festivals and events.

5. Jule Collins Smith Museum 

• Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art is one of Alabama’s leading art museums, with a growing collection of approximately 3,000 works of art ranging from traditional to contemporary. Located at the entry to Auburn University’s main campus, the museum consists of six changing galleries, an auditorium, a café, a museum store, an English-inspired formal area and woodland landscape, outdoor sculpture, and landscaped walking paths.

     General admission is free to the public. 

6. The Rooftop at The Laurel Hotel and Spa

• Featuring a lounge area and a lush urban garden, the rooftop terrace offers a stunning setting with unparalleled views of Auburn University’s iconic Samford Hall as well as the rest of campus at large.

     Sunday through Thursday, admittance is granted on a first come, first served basis with no cover                   charge. Reservations required Fridays and Saturdays, cover charges may apply.

7. Toomer’s Drugs

• Toomer's Drugs has been an Auburn tradition since 1896. A visit to Auburn would not be complete without visiting Toomer's Corner on the corner of Magnolia Ave and College Street. Toomer's has great food, World Famous fresh squeezed lemonade, and a large selection of souvenirs!

• Named after an Auburn win over Alabama (17 to 16) in 1972, this bar is a great Auburn hangout. 1. Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum

• Contemporary, glass-enclosed setup for 1,200+ motorcycles & race cars with an adjacent road course.

2. Birmingham Civil Rights Institute

• Birmingham Civil Rights Institute is a large interpretive museum and research center in Birmingham, Alabama that depicts the events and actions of the 1963 Birmingham campaign, its Children's Crusade, and the other Civil Rights Movement in the 1950s and 1960s.

3. Birmingham Museum of Art

• The Birmingham Museum of Art is a museum in Birmingham, Alabama. Its collection includes more than 24,000 paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, and decorative arts representing various cultures, including Asian, European, American, African, Pre-Columbian, and Native American.

4. Cathedral Caverns State Park

• Cathedral Caverns State Park is a public recreation area and natural history preserve located in Kennamer Cove, Alabama, approximately 5 miles northeast of Grant and 7 miles southeast of Woodville in Marshall County. The park, first known as Bats Cave, was developed as a tourist attraction in the 1950s.

5. Huntsville Botanical Garden

• The Huntsville Botanical Garden is a 118 acres botanical garden located at 4747 Bob Wallace Avenue, Huntsville, Alabama, near the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. It is open year-round for a fee. The garden is ranked third on the list of Alabama's top paid tourist attractions.

6. McWayne Science Center

• The McWane Science Center is a science museum and research archive located in downtown Birmingham, Alabama, United States. The state-of-the-art hands-on science center, aquarium, and 250-seat IMAX Dome Theater is housed in the historic and refurbished Loveman's department store building.

7. Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts

• The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts is a museum located in Montgomery, Alabama, USA, featuring several art collections. The permanent collection includes examples of 19th- and 20th-century American paintings and sculpture, Southern regional art, Old Master prints and decorative arts. 

8. Riverfront Park

• Anchored by the Amphitheatre, the Harriott II Riverboat, and the historic Union Station Train Shed, Riverfront Park is an entertainment destination on the banks of the Alabama River. Riverboat rides, events, and concerts make this park a fun and exciting place for people of all ages.

9. Rosa Parks Museum

• The Rosa Parks Museum is located on the Troy University at Montgomery satellite campus, in Montgomery, Alabama. It has information, exhibits, and some artifacts from the 1955 Montgomery bus boycott.

10. U.S. Space & Rocket Center

• The U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama is a museum operated by the government of Alabama, showcasing rockets, achievements, and artifacts of the U.S. space program.
